A serious hi-fi active desktop speaker system at an affordable price, the 24cm high AktiMate Micro is proudly 100% Australian designed, and follows in the footsteps of its award winning, larger siblings.

Similar in design to the Maxi and the Mini, the fully shielded Micro continues to feature the elegant concealed iDock in the top of the cabinet. This ensures your iPhone or iPod will charge while playing. And because they're fully shielded, they're ideal to use with your television or PC.

The Micro has two more inputs on the rear: a 3.5mm jack and a USB port. These are perfect to play music from your PC, or from Android and other phones with headphone jacks. The USB input is the preferred option as it incorporates a 16 bit DAC (Digital Analogue Converter) to upscale your compressed music. An easy three-step switch on the left of the main speaker allows you to switch input from iPod to jack to USB, with the default being for iPod dock.

While the outer cabinet looks the same, both the kevlar woofer and soft dome tweeter are new designs to give the Micro a dynamic presence. Even better, being an active speaker with a Class D amplifier means you don't need a separate amplifier to enjoy these speakers' very healthy 40 Watts output.

Everything you need to listen to music from your PC or your iPod is right in the box: connecting speaker cable, 3.5mm jack cable, and USB cable. Plus, the incorporated universal power supply means that the speaker can be used anywhere in the world without need for a change in voltage selection.

For cleaner aesthetics, the On/Off switch is located on the rear panel: a blue LED lights above the right-hand volume knob when the system is on.
