Oppo's BDP-93 Universal 3D Blu-Ray Player provides you with unparalleled viewing and listening quality and options. Switch regions on encoded Blu-Ray and DVDs and change as often as required, with the full features you expect from a high quality Blu-Ray player ... and more!
The BDP-93 plays Blu-Ray, 3D Blu-Ray, BD-Live, DVD, DVD-Audio, Super Audio CD (SACD), USB, FLAC and many more formats at full HD 1080p. For Blu-Rays encoded at 24 frames per second (the same frame rate as the original movie's theatrical release), the BDP-93 can faithfully redeliver the original frames using 1080p 24Hz output (compatible display required).
NOTE: the Standard version is modified with DVD_Region_Free_&_BD_Zone_Select standard kit (Zone_Select means you can select any zone, and change as often as required).
The Professional version provides configurable remote control address, a simplified zone switch, and is future firmware proof (upgradable).
For high-quality Blu-Ray content, the BDP-93 faithfully reproduces the program just as the director intended.
For DVD, the up-converted picture quality bridges the visual gap from your current DVD library to Blu-Ray standard.
And for network streaming and user-encoded content at a variety of formats and quality, the BDP-93 offers enhancement options including video noise reduction, compression artefact reduction, intelligent colour, contrast, detail and edge enhancements.
With Oppo’s BDP-93 you will enjoy a truly immersive viewing experience with noise and artefact free images thanks to the inclusion of the Marvell Kyoto-G2 video processor.
Plus with two HDMI outputs, you can set up two TV's / projectors to view simultaneously, or enjoy 3D television without having to upgrade your AV receiver.
The ultimate in convenience, quality & diversification, Oppo's BDP-93 Standard Universal 3D Blu-Ray Player will simplify & enhance your home entertainment experience.
Please note - Although the BDP-93 shares the same playback platform as the BDP-95, it is designed from the ground up with a different chassis and many different components optimised for the analogue audio performance. For this reason it is not possible to upgrade a BDP-93 to gain the BDP-95's enhanced audio performance by replacing parts.

Blu-Ray movie soundtrack, SACD, DVD-A, CD: ... thunderous, yet clear in every nuance ... The sound was perfect. No harshness, no midrange mush, no excessive sibilance. Just satin smooth musical pleasure. I have never heard a better quality sound.
Just when I thought it was safe to put all those RCA interconnects away, you know, the ones used to connect the multi-channel analog outputs from the DVD player to the multi-channel analog audio inputs on the receiver, out they came, because the DACs in the players are better than the ones in the SSP.
Both the OPPO BDP-93 and BDP-95 represent two of the very best Universal Blu-ray players on the market. The BDP-93 Professional does show some measureable audio performance differences from the Standard 93 and offers the consumer another choice, where different factors are emphasized.

Oppo are to be congratulated for raising the bar yet again, the BDP-93EU is a fantastic player that is genuinely universal.
The addition of 3D Blu-ray compatibility to a machine that can already play 2D Blu-ray, DVD, SACD, DVD-Audio and CD means the BDP-93EU can handle any format you might care to throw at it.
Not only that but the BDP-93EU does so with ease and authority, producing excellent video and audio from all these digital formats.
The wonderful build quality and sensible design makes the BDP-93EU a pleasure to use and the load times are among the fastest I have seen.
The new design and improved build quality also result in very quiet operation and the BDP-93EU is almost silent during playback.
Home Theater Review by Adrienne Maxwell May 2011 - 5 Stars
Fans of OPPO Digital's media players will tell you that the company offers the best of both worlds. In terms of product development and rollout, OPPO's approach is more like that of a high-end company: The goal is not to release a whole new product line every year and meet arbitrary deadlines; rather, the goal is to make sure that every product released meets high performance and quality standards.
The process involves careful selection of components and a lot of testing. Once the product arrives on the market, the company pays close attention to customer issues and works quickly to resolve them with firmware updates. At the same time, OPPO prices its products in the realm of the reasonable, perhaps a bit higher than the mainstream manufacturers but generally lower (often significantly so) than high-end specialty companies.
I was fortunate to have four other 3D Blu-ray players in-house when the BDP-93 arrived, so I began my evaluation by doing some speed comparisons. Going up against models from Samsung, Panasonic, Sharp, and Toshiba (all priced under $300, but none with dual HDMI outputs or universal playback), when it came to loading discs, the OPPO was consistently the fastest. With DVDs, the load times were similar amongst most of the players, with the BDP-93 having an advantage of just a few seconds. The discrepancy grew with Blu-ray discs, particularly Blu-ray 3D discs and discs like Iron Man (Paramount Home Video) that sport Java-heavy menus. The BDP-93 loaded the Monster House Blu-ray 3D disc (Sony Pictures) 13 seconds faster than the closest competitor.
The OPPO was the clear winner in build quality and quiet operation. Its chassis and especially its disc tray felt much more sturdy, and the BDP-93 was impressively quiet when loading and navigating discs. (Some of the other players sounded like they were really manhandling the discs.)
Beyond hearing the faintest hum in a totally silent room, I was seldom aware of the BDP-93's operation. Furthermore, the OPPO responds to remote commands in a quick, timely manner. The BDP-93 struck that proverbial "just right" that made it easy to navigate menus. It also performed reliably with all the disc types I tried, with no freezes or hiccups.
... music tracks were tight, crisp, and clean, and both the stereo and multichannel soundstages were big and balanced.

We're not going to surprise anybody by recommending the Oppo BDP-93 player. If you're reading this review I doubt you had any doubts.
Exceptional video quality; Flexible, dual HDMI outputs; Embarrasses most reference BD players.
In all scenarios, the Oppo player seemed to really perform well and positioned itself as an excellent video playback device for both high definition and standard definition material. If you have a display that is adequately calibrated, you'll get a very dynamic picture that reveals a ton of detail - even though it's at the upper range of the IRE scale.
... you can certainly find players that have more (and better) network features and cost a whole lot less. What you won't find is a universal player... let alone a universal 3D player. Oppo's got the goods. You want the goods. You must buy the goods... cause it's really that good.

... audio performance is exemplary ...
the BDP-93’s DVD-Audio and SACD capabilities are absolutely essential, and a feature you won’t find on many of the less-expensive Blu-ray players competing with the OPPO. SACD output can be configured as direct-DSD (if your processor can decode it) or PCM via HDMI, or internally decoded and DAC’d if you’re using the player’s multichannel analog audio outputs.
That level of customizability runs through most elements of the BDP-93’s operation. If you’ve got a constant-height theater, for example, and find yourself bawwing over subtitles that don’t fit on the screen with ultra-widescreen films, the BDP-93 has a fix for that in the form of subtitle shift, with five increments of upward or downward offset.
The player’s Marvell Kyoto-G2 Qdeo video processor performs beautifully on every objective test, and with movies delivers an incredibly detailed, film-like image that — while it may not completely obliterate other players on the market — certainly hasn’t been bested by anything I’ve laid eyes on.
