A special 7-nines (99.9999% pure) copper wire manufactured in Japan.
Low internal impedance makes the cartridge less sensitive to load and therefore ensures compatibility with the widest range of preamps and transformers.
A special and newly developed polycarbonate based resin, Lexan DMX, in Piano Black is used for manufacturing of the body. This revolutionary material improves rigidity and damping properties and also has a very durable scratch resistant surface. Rigidity is an important performance character as the plastic-body serves as basis for the generator.

Sound is typical Ortofon, in all the best ways: very evenly balanced tonally but without sacrificing life and energy.
Its detail is first-rate, with good imaging, too and it's worth noting that both of those aspects are very consistent with level, which is by no means always the case.
The treble is very sweet and handles both high levels and subtle ambient traces very well, while bass is extended and punchy, but never over done.

An excellent cartridge with a solid, weighty and effortless sound that really works with everything you throw at it. There's plenty of drive, but also loads of refinement at the same time to make for many happy listening hours. At the price this seems brilliant value and I can only highly recommend this wonderful cartridge.
