Designed inside and out by Runco’s award-winning engineering and design team, the Runco LightStyle LS-5 projector combines a 1080p native resolution DLP light engine featuring Runco's powerful SuperOnyx™ technology with ConstantContrast™ for bright, pristine, high definition images with deep black levels and significant contrast.
This Runco HD projector ensures a perfect fit in any room at any time because it incorporates ISF™ (Imaging Science Foundation) calibration suite for optimal performance in various rooms and lighting conditions. These calibration tools feature day and night calibration memory settings, individual sharpness and noise reduction controls, programmable image memory selection keys, built-in test patterns and a dark room-optimized remote.
Runco’s advanced ViVix™ digital video processing enhances the LS-5 1080p projector's picture quality and provides artefact-free scaling. Rounding out this impressive projector are discrete input source, aspect ratio and power on/off, as well as an RS-232 interface for seamless integration with automation control systems.

With anything close to its performance in the marketplace sporting at least one extra digit in the price tag, this offering should be a no-brainer.
Set-Up is about as easy as it can get. The remote control has just the right stuff ... the user menu is the most comprehensive I have seen.
Runco has hit it out of the park with this product.
One could even worry that they may have cannibalized some high-end business with the extraordinary value proposition offered here.
To those who thought the rarified air of high-quality front projection was filled with only products made from unaffordium, think again. To get visibly higher image quality than offered by the LS-5, be prepared to spend four to five times its retail price.
Spot-on colourimetry, ruler flat gray scale, high quality optics, and every "tweak" necessary for an ultimate calibration, and all for less than what we paid for a decent flat panel last year, yields a new high water mark for both performance and value.

Consider this projector if you’d like a feature-rich projector from one of the industry’s most respected brands, and need both horizontal and vertical lens shift.
With a full suite of features and great out-of-the-box performance, these Runco LightStyle projectors are sure to impress. The video processing section features extensive tunability, and the ConstantContrast feature works really well in delivering improved contrast, but without the lag artefacts that some other iris-based contrast enhancement methods sometimes deliver.
When paired with screens in the popular 100”–120” diagonal range, the light output at the economy setting is still plenty bright, which will roughly double lamp life (Runco quotes 4,000 hours at the lower setting). Colour accuracy is excellent and the projector runs very quietly. If you don’t need the horizontal lens shift feature, then the LS-3 model, which is essentially similar in features and performance, would be the ideal choice.

What a great projector ... for those most concerned with filling their theater with a beautiful image, no rough edges, the Runco LightStyle LS-5 turns out to be right on the money.
The Runco LS-5 does its job beautifully, so that you really don't notice your projector. The gear, be it audio or video, is supposed to be invisible, so you can fully appreciate the content. This Runco is that kind of projector.
The LightStyle LS-5 will provide an image of rich saturated and accurate colours. There's nothing to offend, with great shadow detail and very good black level performance among its peers.
Is the LS5 projector worth the price? I'd have to say, definitely, YES.
