"The SV-226 Mk II melds the sweetness of tubes with the control and power of transistors. For this kind of money that’s nothing short of phenomenal" Playback

Heavenly Hybrid with Devilishly High Power

Vincent does it again. The German-based audio company demonstrates an insatiable love of music with the hybrid SV-226MKII integrated amplifier. Whether it's the liquid glide of a classic Duke Ellington recording or hammering hip hop rhythms, the Vincent SV-226 MKII makes all of your tunes sound true to life.

  • Vacuum tube preamplifier stage
  • Solid state power amplifier stage
  • Tubes for preamp stage: 3 x 6N4
  • Inputs: 6 x RCA
  • Outputs: 1 x Rec Out, 1 x Pre Out, headphone jack
  • Four pairs of heavy-duty, gold-plated five-way binding posts
  • Wireless remote control
  • Fuse protected
  • IEC power cord
Warmth and Detail, Power and Control

The hybrid tube and transistor design of the 100-watt-per-channel SV-226 MKII is perfect for the music enthusiast who prefers the warmth and detail of tubes without sacrificing the power and control which solid state offers. It is truly the best of both worlds. The wide soundstage of the Vincent gives you the power and subtle detail that's perfect for any kind of music.

The heavenly hybrid sound quality of the SV-226 MKII gets a devilish kick of high power. The vacuum tube circuitry of the preamplifier stage uses three 6N4 tubes for low-level integrity. The solid state output stage makes the most of Toshiba power transistors to deliver 100 watts per channel at 8 ohms or 200 watts per channel at 4 ohms. That's more than enough juice for a hair-raising hi-fi and home theater experience.

Unbeatable Build Quality

Inside and out, the build quality is unbeatable. Expensive MPK-capacitors and extremely precise metal film resistors in the signal path contribute to the sonic purity. The heavy duty chassis provides a stable platform for the premium electronics.

The SV-226 MKII includes inputs for five line level sources, a preamp output, and four pairs of heavy duty five-way speaker binding posts to facilitate biwiring.

The tone controls let you sculpt the sound to suit your tastes and room acoustics, while a loudness switch helps preserve the dynamics of your music even at low amplitude levels.

Vincent SV-226MKII Hybrid Stereo Integrated Amplifier Reviews

AV Guide Monthly (Playback) by Steve Guttenberg - May 2008
Designed in Germany and hand-built in China, the Vincent SV-226 Mk II is a really big amplifier. There’s a retro quality to its machined metal faceplate and knobs, which feel great, by the way. And while it may not be obvious when you first look at it, the SV-226 Mk II is a hybrid, tube/solid state design. It uses three 6N4 tubes (equivalent to the more common 12AX7 tube) in the preamp section and highly regarded Toshiba power transistors in the amp. Vincent’s parts quality selection seems first rate; for example, the amp uses expensive capacitors and extremely precise metal film resistors in the signal path.

The power transformer is huge and the power supply is considerably beefier than what you’ll find in most affordable integrated amps, which is why the SV-226 MK II doubles its 8 ohm rated power of 100 watts to 200 watts into 4-ohm speakers. The heavy-duty speaker connectors can accommodate burly audiophile cables, no problem.

I’ve listened to a lot of hybrid amplifiers in my time, but the truth of the matter is they almost always sound like solid-state amps. The SV-226 Mk II deftly defies that expectation; it melds the sweetness of tubes with the control and power of transistors. For this kind of money that’s nothing short of phenomenal.

PowerLine Series from Vincent

When so many multicultural and traditional currents meet as they do in Hong Kong, this often creates different approaches. Many people believe that classic is just another word for “old.” The traditional powerLine is, however, classic in another way. Like the reincarnation of Mozart's piano sonatas under the influence of the pianist Lang Lang. Interpreted in a sensual, bewitching, stirring and new way. Our powerLine is not old - but today it's already a classic.

About Vincent - born in Germany 1995

This story began very quietly. It would get louder, yes, later there'd even be rumbles and shouts. Unfortunately it couldn’t be otherwise. But for the moment it was so quiet that we didn't dare speak in anything but whispers and even this single “Psst” sounded like an explosion.

It all started with a quite ordinary question: How do I make High End affordable? Uwe Bartel set off looking for a valve amplifier by the direct route, working logically and continuously. The first step, the introduction of the SA-1 valve prestage and the D-150 output stage, still made a very quiet sound in the press but one that couldn't be missed. Then it got a bit louder when Vincent expanded its product range and regularly thrilled the specialist press – and music lovers in particular.

The rumble was powerful and certainly justified because the new Vincent products were now electronically redesigned and presented in a solid metal housing. Now the Vincent brand was making a really audible bang in the specialist press and putting prestige brands in the shade again and again.

Bartel, the electronics engineer, is constantly surprising everyone with his innovations. So he is always expanding Vincent's product range and always ensures a sensation and a whole lot of noise in the 2-channel electronics sector.

Loud and with feeling: Vincent also offers some highlights for the fans of multi-channel in the sector of mono output stages. In combination with the Vincent speakerLine and the cableLine this makes music enthusiasts ...
