Projector Screens
Projector Screens One of the last pieces in the home theatre puzzle is making sure that you have a screen for your projector. Sure, you could just use a wall, but walls aren’t as reflective as a screen, so your image won’t look as bright or as crisp. Make sure to choose a size that will be appropriate for your room size and the capabilities of your projector. A too-large screen may produce a picture with less than optimum brightness, or noticeable pixel structure. You’ll also want to take seating into account. The general rule of thumb for optimum viewing distance is 1 ½ times the screen diagonally, but this can vary. You’ll also need to choose from a manual pull-down type screen, motorised retractable, or fixed frame. Another consideration is “gain”, which measures the amount of light reflected back on the viewers by the screen. A higher gain means a brighter image.
