The SerieT/i is designed to set a new standard for excellence in its category. T/i is better in every way than the previous generaton Serie T, which itself set new standards for performance, reliability and beauty in design. The REL design team had to re-think how subwoofers were likely to be used in the years to come and we believe we have hit the precise balance of ease of use, upgraded sonic performance and we even managed to improve on the physical beauty and quality of fnish.
Wait tll you experience the optonal Arrow™ wireless system. There's nothing quite like realizing you really can have it all; great performance and no visible wires. The key to its excellence is its speed which is like nothing in the more common Bluetooth et al consumer-based systems. Latency, or delay, is the great bugaboo of wireless systems because it can rob music and flm of all the warmth, punch and excitement of the real thing. Arrow operates in the region of 15-22 milliseconds, which is many tmes faster than more common systems and results in performance very close indeed to the performance of a hardwired connecton.
Our engineers focused on bringing as much of the power, speed, slam (and delicacy) of our larger models to T/i. We make extensive use of aluminium bracing in our new cone structures to produce a lighter and much more rigid piston to drive the dynamics of music and flm with greater authority. We even removed the carbon black from our cones because the added mass slowed the sound notceably. White, it's the new black. The one thing we didn't change was the now-classic REL Class A/B power amplifers because no other designs at anything close to these prices deliver the combinaton of rugged reliability, immense reserves of current and brilliant sonics these designs deliver. At REL, we are commited to constantly--some would say relentlessly--upgrading our oferings but we always do so in a sensible manner that retains the tried-and-true while pushing forward in every other aspect of our designs. We trust you will enjoy your new T/i for many years to come.
REL have a longstanding tradition of requiring the top model in any range to bemore. More than the sum of its parts, it represents the grandest scale, the highest output and the most we can do within any given technology envelope.
T/9i represents the most of T/i that we can deliver, and if sheer output alone is a primary requirement for your theatre or music system then read no further. The combination of a lightweight, composite 10” driver coupled to a matching 10” T/i passive delivers speed, slam and attack when called upon but also is capable of tracing more delicate passages when necessary. Large in sonic scale, the T/9i is ideal for mating up with floor standing speakers and rooms that are on the medium-to-large size. Powerful, concussive, yet beautiful.
T/9i delivers more than just raw output. We started with our driver upgrades and built outward. The lovely cabinets grew by 4 lbs. (1.8 kg) over its predecessor due to thicker cabinet walls and improved bracing. Why? Because the additional speed and impact of the new drivers requires greater control or the benefits can be lost before they get to the listener.
REL's acclaimed input filters and robust amplifiers result in some of the best sounding, most reliable designs ever produced. High current power supplies, huge toroidal transformers, and what many critics call the best filters in the world produce the famous REL Effect—wherein not simply the bass region but ALL music and movie sound is uplifted and improved.
Arrow™ Zero Compression Wireless: REL are quickly growing into an industry leader in wireless. Following on the heels of the acclaimed LongBow™ Wireless, Arrow delivers much of the promise and connectivity of hardwired RELs with the placement flexibility and pure cool factor of great wireless for all of T/i. For a reasonable sum, Arrow gives you the ability to place subs in distant corners, along glass walls, or on hardwood floors where a cable would otherwise destroy the effect.
